Why use Citygate for Salary Sacrifice?

We think our scheme is the best around, read on to find out why.

What can we offer?

At Citygate Leasing, we've worked hard to make our Salary Sacrifice scheme as easy as possible to set up at no cost to the business.

Why our scheme is different?

We've worked to build the easiest Salary Sacrifice scheme around, partnering with experts in the industry to make sure we're offering the best possible scheme at no-cost to your business.

Unlike other schemes, there's no ongoing administrative fee, whilst maintaining access to all the same benefits of other schemes. Through our partnerships, businesses can offer a all-inclusive EV to their employees within days of signing up.

The employer foots none of the cost, with the employee paying for all potential costs through either sacrificed pay (therefore benefiting from tax savings) or from post-tax pay for those unexpected costs.

What are the costs?

In our all-inclusive scheme, all employer costs are considered and are transfered to the employee, who is benefitting from the vehicle and making significant tax savings.

The table below summarises the costs:

Cost Explaination Recovery
Rental The monthly rental of the vehicle from the leasing company. via Salary Sacrifice
Service, Maintenance & Repair A monthly cost ensuring that the employee is covered for servicing, maintenance and repair costs within the lifetime of their lease. via Salary Sacrifice
Any unrecoverable VAT A portion of VAT can normally be recovered for the vehicle, but any unrecoverable VAT will be recovered from the employee. via Salary Sacrifice
Road insurance Cars have to be insured by the business, we partner with a supplier to include this as part of our offering. via Salary Sacrifice
Damage If the employee damages the vehicle above standard wear and tear, then they will be charged for this damage at the end of the lease. via net pay
Insurance excess If the employee has to make an insurance claim and pay the insurance excess. via net pay
Fines Any fines that the employee receives whilst driving the vehicle. via net pay
Excess Mileage Any excess mileage charges at the end of the lease. via net pay

What about early terminations?

Early terminations are the biggest risk to employers for Salary Sacrifice. As the company is taking out the lease, if the employee leaves then the company will still be paying for the lease, without being able to recoup from the employee, who has now left.

However, at Citygate, we offer a number of solutions to mitigate this risk, which we can talk you through in detail when you set up the scheme.
