BMW is getting ready to launch a new BMW 3 Series, and the incoming BMW M350 xDrive is bringing more power, sharper handling and a brand-new drift mode.
Expected to arrive towards the end of 2026, the M350 xDrive will sit below the full BMW M3 and replace the current M340i xDrive as the most powerful model in the standard 3 Series range.
BMW M350 xDrive Performance
The new M350 xDrive will be powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology.
It produces an impressive 443 hp and 580 Nm of torque, taking the car from 0–62 mph in just 4.1 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph.
With xDrive all-wheel drive, adaptive M Suspension and an M Sport differential, BMW is aiming to deliver a sportier and more engaging driving experience.
A New Drift Mode for the BMW 3 Series
The biggest talking point is BMW's new ‘Drift Moment’ system.
For the first time, the M350 xDrive will feature a dedicated system designed to send power to the rear wheels and allow drivers to enjoy controlled drifting.
The feature has traditionally been reserved for BMW's higher-performance M models, making it a particularly exciting addition to the new M350 xDrive.
Better still, BMW plans to make Drift Moment available as an over-the-air software update from 2027, meaning existing M350 xDrive owners won't necessarily miss out.
What's New for the BMW 3 Series?
The new combustion-engine BMW 3 Series will arrive alongside the all-electric BMW i3 and will feature BMW's latest design language.
Standard 3 Series models will use four-cylinder petrol engines with mild-hybrid technology, while the M350 xDrive will offer significantly more performance.
The new design features a slimmer kidney grille and a sharper front end, giving the 3 Series a more modern look.
