What options are available

When considering getting a new car, you should consider the options that are available to you. The most common options are outright purchase, financing and leasing.

Things to know

  • You do not own the vehicle and must hand it back at the end of your lease term.
  • You must pay an upfront payment and a fixed monthly lease rental for your lease term.
  • You need to select your upfront payment, lease term and annual mileage allowance for your vehicle, which will determine the fixed monthly cost.
  • You can include a maintenance package covering routine servicing and tyre replacements.
  • Drive a brand new car with the latest technology.y
  • Lease monthly costs are typically much lower than financing a vehicle via a loan or PCP (Personal Contract Purchase) agreement
  • Access to a broader range of cars for your budget, where you can take advantage of special offers from leasing companies or vehicle manufacturers
  • Fixed monthly costs allow you to manage your budget more effectively
  • As the vehicle is new, it will be under manufacturer warranty
  • Setting your annual mileage allowance is essential. If you go over, you will have to pay excess mileage fees, but if you're much under, you'll be paying for miles you're not using in your monthly fixed rental
  • You must insure your vehicle and ensure it remains roadworthy at all times
  • If you damage your vehicle, you may have to pay for it at the end of your lease if you do not rectify it before handing it back.
